Are you a trainable problem solver who likes to work with your hands? If you are, consider becoming an HVAC/R Technician. It's a great career that many people have heard of, but few know how to enter. There’s high demand for HVAC Technicians in the Pacific Northwest.
Emerald Cities Collaborative Seattle is co-hosting a FREE, customized Introduction to HVAC/Refrigeration training course in 2020 for Veterans of the United States military. Training dates will be arranged after the final applicants are selected.
The course will be 26 weeks in length, with evening classes Wednesdays and Thursdays and daytime classes on select Saturdays. This program condenses one-year of NCCER curriculum into a six-month training designed for working people and those seeking work. Training will be delivered in Kent, Washington through the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington.
This training delivers essential basics relevant to “indoor comfort” and small-scale commercial mechanical. Extensive hands-on laboratory work comprises the core of the training, along with classroom work and field trips. The instructor Dave Norman is highly skilled and well respected in the industry. More details about the training appear here.
All books and tools are provided, along with support services delivered by a local partner organization that specializes in supporting Veterans. Those attending also will meet hiring managers and leaders in the field, visit Class A facilities, and get referrals for entry-level job interviews.
Even if you have little or no trade experience, you are encouraged to learn more and apply IMMEDIATELY.
